Indigo is a natural dye, and dye houses use wild Indigofera tinctoria (Xiaojing) because it thrives particularly well in the sunny climate of Taitung.
Indigo Tie Dyeing has a history of over 3,000 years. The dye houses aim to infuse traditional crafts with new creativity through people's skilled hands, which is the essence of cultural revival. Every visitor who participates in an Indigo Tie Dyeing course in Taitung enjoys a peaceful creative time, transferring the colors of the ocean and sky onto their works with their own hands. By employing techniques of pinching and bundling, they create diverse shapes and blue layers, integrating traditional crafts with fashion and everyday use, allowing everyone to become an Indigo Tie Dye artist.
Indigo Tie Dyeing not only showcases the aesthetics of life but also encompasses the values of natural sustainability and cultural revival. Each piece is unique. Whether you gift your handmade piece or use it yourself, it carries commemorative value and personal character. Indigo dyeing is not just a craft but an artistic creation. Beyond being a memory of Taitung's blue, it perfectly blends nature and culture, making it unforgettable.

Introduction
Designing Patterns
Design your preferred patterns on the fabric. Use different tying techniques to create unique designs, and feel free to unleash your creativity. This step lets each participant experience the joy of design and ensures that each piece is one-of-a-kind.
Dyeing
Submerge the fabric in the dye solution. The dye solution is made from the wild Indigofera tinctoria (Xiaojing) plant, which is natural and eco-friendly. Soak the fabric in the dye for a while, allowing the dye to fully penetrate each fiber, laying the foundation for the subsequent dyeing process.
Repeated Oxidation
After dyeing, remove the fabric and let it oxidize in the air. This process needs to be repeated several times, with each oxidation followed by another round of dyeing to achieve the desired color depth. Each oxidation step enhances the saturation and richness of the fabric's color.
Rinsing
Once the desired color effect is achieved, thoroughly rinse the fabric to remove excess dye and impurities. This step is crucial to ensure the final product has stable and even coloring. Rinse the fabric with clean water repeatedly until the water runs clear.
